About Warm Home Numbers
Warm Home Numbers is an independent website that puts real, sourced numbers on home energy decisions in the UK: what a heat pump or solar panels cost, what they save, what the price cap means for your bill, and which grants you can claim.
Why this site exists
Most pages about heat pumps, solar panels and energy grants are written by companies that sell them. Many others are out of date: grant values, VAT rules and the price cap change several times a year, and old figures stay online for years. We wanted one place where every number is linked to where it came from and shows the date it was last checked.
Who we are
The site is run by Tomás, an independent web publisher who edits every guide and is responsible for its accuracy. We are a small independent publication, not a company in the energy industry. We are not heat pump or solar installers, an energy supplier, a comparison service or financial advisers, and we have no commercial relationship with any of them.
We do not visit homes or install equipment, so we don’t present our guides as personal experience of installing heat pumps. What we offer is careful reading of official data, clear calculations you can check, and calculators you can run with your own bills.
What we cover
- Heat pumps: prices, running costs and how to judge a quote.
- Solar panels: costs, payback and export rates.
- Energy bills: the Ofgem price cap, rates and tariffs.
- Grants and schemes: the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, the Warm Homes Plan, VAT relief and other help.
- Home efficiency: everyday ways to use less energy.
- Calculators: run the numbers with your own usage and prices.
Guides on home batteries and on insulation measures are being prepared and will be added once they have been checked. You can see everything we have published on the all guides page.
